the problem STATEMENT

We started with the question, “How do people perform searches and curate the results?”

Customers have loads of structured and unstructured data in different spaces on different platforms, such as: laptops, cloud, 3-party integrations and apps. They struggle to coalesce their data and to be able perform simultaneous queries on many different sources, there is no way to merge the results. Analyzing search results is a daunting task and to pull all of the information together to make it useful and insightful is of great interest. It is essential to collaborate between people on different teams and be able to gain a consensus. Accessible data is not at their finger tips and tight deadlines adds pressure to produce with accuracy, to chart a course to derive actionable insights. Currently, they are not able to unify results together to drive ideas and miss key opportunities where information slips through the cracks.

• Loss of data that is comprehensive where comments are critical data are left sitting on a platform and valuable informaiton is lost in translation in social media free form context.

• Struggle to collect, correlate, and curate data that is sourced from structured and unstructured data: SQL tables, bill of materials, documents, images, videos, emails, chats, call logs, and many other different types of content.

• They need to search all of the unstructured and structured data information sources and try to solve a puzzle. They are not exactly remembering which source said something they need and where it was.

• Their boss is looking for a particular answer to a question for a customers and they must pull it together quickly to present to a client.

• Lost sales opportunities and customer satisfaction.

• Stored data sets don’t reflect the dialogue that happened and picking up important relevant conversational ques in teams, i.e., What does someone need to say about the data that they found and how will they decide to use it.

• The need to organize, curate, and correlate with other humans not always in sight at meetings.

User Interview Workshop

Together as a team we outlined questions to conduct a semi-structured interviews to empathize with the participants. We gained insight about what are they thinking and how they go about doing their daily jobs and a specific area of interest was as how they gather their data: how they share it, and where it is stored, and how they get their data. What can we do improve the ease-of-use in the way they do their job today? Would Unity Central be beneficial to them by assisting them to do their job with more ease?
